Students from the Alcorn School District’s Future Farmers of America (FFA) demonstrated knowledgeable practice, leadership skills, and dedication during this year's Alcorn County Fair Livestock Show. Not only did several students compete in various livestock events, but they also stepped up to volunteer and assist with the overall operations of the show.
Competing students showcased animals ranging from cattle to poultry, representing themselves and their schools with pride and earning accolades for their hard work and commitment to agricultural excellence. Their efforts in animal care, training, and presentation paid off, as several students took home awards in their respective categories.
In addition to competing, a number of FFA members also volunteered to help run the event, assisting with logistics, guiding younger participants, and ensuring the smooth execution of the show. Their contributions were recognized by both fair organizers and FFA instructors across the ASD, who praised the students for their teamwork, leadership, and willingness to give back to the community.
FFA programs on all campuses in the Alcorn School District continue to foster a strong sense of responsibility and service, helping students develop leadership skills that will benefit them both in and out of the classroom.
