Our Alcorn School District Honor Choir blessed us with a wonderful performance today. Musical talent from Alcorn Central, Biggersville, and Kossuth 3rd-6th grade students came together to showcase their talents today at ACMS. We are proud of the work that our great music teachers Jana Matlock, Tina Downs, Kristen Cook, and Nancy Harvell have gotten out of our students.
We love that our students are able to engage in music and the arts. It is a very important part of a child’s education. Former President Gerald Ford once said, “Music education opens doors that help children pass from school into the world around them – a world of work, culture, intellectual activity, and human involvement. The future of our nation depends on providing our children with a complete education that includes music.”
We are proud of the work that each of these students have put in leading up to this superb performance! This marks our 25th Anniversary for an ASD Honor Choir performance. It is a time honored tradition coveted by our community. We look forward to hosting many more musical events by our students for years to come.
This is just another way that ASD is #LearningToday & #LeadingTomorrow
