This month, our CKH lesson has created a lot of energy and excitement as students learned about the CKH Word of the Month: Teamwork! To celebrate and embody the spirit of teamwork, students have been participating in a series of fun and challenging activities designed to enhance communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
One of the highlights has been the parachute activity, where students have come together to use a giant parachute in various team-oriented exercises. Working in unison, they have been coordinating their efforts to lift, lower, and maneuver the parachute in creative ways, all while focusing on collaboration and mutual support. The large, colorful parachute has become a symbol of how, when everyone works together, big tasks can be accomplished with ease and fun!
Another thrilling challenge that tested the power of teamwork was the cup stacking activity. In this unique twist on a classic game, each team used strings attached to a rubber band, and together they worked in perfect synchrony to stretch the band open wide enough to pick up a plastic cup. The goal was to build a tower—one cup at a time. As teams worked together to stack their cups higher, they quickly realized the importance of communication, patience, and trust in one another’s abilities.
In both activities, students learned that effective teamwork requires more than just individual effort. It’s about listening to others, coordinating actions, and offering support when needed. Whether lifting the parachute or building a cup tower, the key to success was in their ability to come together and achieve a common goal.
These hands-on activities have not only helped students strengthen their teamwork skills but also provided them with memorable experiences. By working together, students are learning valuable life skills that will help them succeed in and out of the classroom.
