Music Makers have been busy this fall, and we plan to keep going. With only three practices under our belt, we added dress rehearsals in order to participate in “The Music Man” on October 25 and 26, with Central Stage and Golden Voices under the direction of Leanne Williams. The music man promised to create a band in town. We were that band in full uniform with instruments! Our own Carmondy Potter had a supporting role as Amaryllis, and everyone had a chance on stage under the big lights.
We are off to the Veteran’s Day Parade on November 11. After the parade, ACES Music Makers will combine with other fine arts students from the Alcorn School District in our second annual Veteran’s Day Program to be held at 1:00 at Oakland Baptist Church. All are welcome, but certainly our veterans, as they will be our honored guests.
In December, we will finish the first semester with the national anthem at a basketball game, Christmas caroling, and a Christmas program of our own.
We are always preparing for the next musical adventure!
