Kalob Drewery was recently honored as the ACTC Rotary Student of the Month for May. Kalob is the son of Clint and Jessica Drewery, and he is a senior at Kossuth High School. He is a program completer in the Digital Media Program at the Career Center.
At ACTC, Kalob is a member of the Technological Student Association and the National Technical Honor Society. He was awarded the top first year student in Digital Media last year, and he is the Student of the Year for Digital Media this year. Kalob has also been nominated for the overall student of the year at the Career Center this year.
Kalob competed in both individual and group competition with TSA his student organization for Digital Media. He received 2nd place in the Northern district competition in Photography two years running. And his team got 2nd place in Digital Video Production.
As a graduating senior, Kalob is being honored both as a Mississippi Scholar and a Mississippi Tech Master Scholar, awards which measure not only academic achievement, but also community service, attendance and outstanding behavior. At Kossuth Kalob is ranked in the top quarter of his class. He has been on the All A Honor Roll this school year and the A/B Honor Roll in previous years. He also has received the perfect attendance recognition for the last two years, and is a member of the Kossuth Aggie Band where he plays the alto saxophone.
Kalob has scored 26 on his ACT and has been accepted in the Honors Institute at Northeast MS Community College where he plans to attend and major in medicine with a concentration in Psychology. After obtaining his degree, he would like to return to Alcorn County and work for Magnolia Regional Healthcare Center.
