Mrs. Whitney Kelly and Mrs. Polly Jones 2nd-4th grade Quest students have been studying the history of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. They learned that the parade started in 1924 with large round balloons that were nursery rhyme themed. As the years went by the large balloons have evolved into awesome characters loved by many. During the research of the parade, the students were challenged to create their own character using a balloon, construction paper, felt, and other art materials. After the creation of the balloons, the students paraded around the school for all students to enjoy.
