Mrs. Smith’s English IV class has spent the last two weeks reading articles, watching a documentary, and researching topics about social media. This is all in preparation for writing a paper next week. Friday, a paneled debate was held on the pros and cons of social media. Mrs. Kathy and Mrs. Wendy listened to both sides of the argument, plus the rebuttals and decided that the “Cons” gave the more convincing argument and won the debate.
Activities like this give our students a chance to apply real world knowledge to their education. This practical means of study helps showcase new ideas and broaden people’s perspective on several topics.
