Keystone Adds 3D Printer to Curriculum

The ACHS Keystone students are getting geared up to use their brand new 3D printer.

Keystone teacher Heather Arnold was given a $2,000 grant from Voya, a financial planning organization. The grant was a part of their Excellence in Education program.

Arnold and ACHS Principal Brandon Quinn purchased a brand new Makerbot Replicator+ with all the bells and whistles.

Arnold has also written and received a $1,000 grant from the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) to be used for printing supplies and accessories. A special ceremony will be held Friday.

”It’s dangerous having a former ELA teacher in a stem classroom because there are so many grants out there for the taking. I have written other ones and plan to keep writing them to enhance our learning,” said Arnold.

Keystone is a required advanced elective for all freshmen. This course helps students discover the 16 different career modules and the opportunities in each field.
