ACHS Beta State Convention

Biloxi, MS - The Alcorn Central High School Beta Club had an outstanding performance at the Mississippi State Beta Convention this week, with 16 individuals qualifying for the National Convention in four different categories. In addition, five students received the prestigious Golden Ticket invitation to be Premier Performers at the National Convention’s opening ceremony.

The competition was fierce, but ACHS students rose to the challenge, showcasing their talents in creative and performing arts. Here are the standout results:

  •  Lilly Manuel - 5th Place, Recycling Art
  •  Julia Davis - 4th Place, Quilling
  • Addyson Winchell - 4th Place, Creative Writing
  • Show Choir - 3rd Place

Five ACHS students—Luke Williams, Presleigh Barry, Ella Tucker, Anna Hardin, and Cathy Hernandez—earned Golden Tickets, granting them the opportunity to be Premier Performers at the National Convention’s opening ceremony.


The National Beta Convention will be held in Orlando, Florida, from June 22-26. As the team prepares to compete on the national stage, stay tuned for upcoming fundraisers to support their journey.
