The students in Mrs. William's Spanish 2 class had some fun recently studying hispanic culture.
Students were divided into groups and were tasked with researching the demographics, economics, academics, music, traditional dress, art, cuisine, geography, and cultural lifestyle of predominantly Spanish speaking countries. This is always one of Mrs. William's favorite projects in her class. This provides the students a great opportunity to consider different perspectives and continue working on their collaboration skills. They also get to work on their presentation skills and showcase their other talents such as dancing, cooking, painting, singing, speaking, and so much more!
The pictures above showcase a project on Puerto Rico. You can see the nation's flag, traditional clothing items, artwork, and food items. Students prepared their rendition of fried plantains.
We are proud to see our students learning and continuing to engage with each other while considering other cultures and perspectives. This is just another example of #learninginaction at Alcorn Central High School!
