Alcorn Central High School was saddened to hear of the loss of one of our beloved students over the weekend. Connor Gargus, Class of 2024, was involved in an ATV accident this weekend that claimed his life. Connor will remain a part of the Golden Bear family forever. His lively personality, witty sense of humor, shining smile, and heart for others is the legacy he leaves with us all.
His untimely passing will be a difficult time for many of our teachers, students, and community members. In this time of grieving, we need to remember the importance of community. Together, we stand united in comforting those in need, supporting those around us, and loving everyone.
Counselors and trained staff will be present throughout the school Monday and for the coming days as we focus on providing students with the opportunity to seek guidance in navigating this challenging moment.
Please continue to be in prayer for the Gargus family, his friends, and the whole Golden Bear community as we honor the memory of this beloved young man.
Connor, you will forever and always be a Golden Bear!
