Thank you for all the hard work in making the first two days of testing go smoothly! Tomorrow is US History. Again, we ask all students that are testing to charge your computers, get plenty of rest, and eat breakfast.
Also, ALL seniors need to check their school email account for an important message regarding MacBook collection.
Thank you for all the hard work through these next few weeks. Things are drawing to a close!

State Testing is upon us!
This week marks the beginning of end of course exams for some of our state tested subject areas. Students involved in testing need to get plenty of rest the night before their exam. They also need to bring their computer charged and ready to start testing first thing in the morning. We also encourage students to eat a good breakfast. Students can still get a free breakfast from the cafeteria if they would like to do that the morning of their test.
Below is the testing schedule:
English 2 - Tuesday, May 4 & Wednesday, May 5
US History - Thursday, May 6
Biology - Tuesday, May 11
Algebra - Wednesday, May 12
We are ready to get these tests out of the way and have this year behind us! Good luck, do your best, and rock the test! #weareAC
SENIORS: If you have received any scholarships and have not told Mrs. Grisham or Mrs. Davis, you need to turn those in by the end of the day. They need to finalize their list for academic awards tomorrow evening. Thanks!

PARENTS: Registration is around the corner!
Mrs. Pittman has forwarded registration codes to all email addresses associated with your ActiveParent accounts. If you do not have an ActiveParent account, create one to complete this process. Codes will be resent next week for new accounts and those who have yet to receive the email notification.
If you have issues creating an ActiveParent account or experience problems completing the online registration, you may contact the ACHS Office and schedule a time with Mrs. Pittman to help. You may also reference the helpful video that was produced last year during registration time. It can be found at the following link: https://youtu.be/EXGzUsVs83Y - Notice that certain elements of the video are not relevant to the current registration period.
Students will begin schedule planning next week. The end of the year is coming up quickly, and it is our goal to help all of our ACHS students be prepared for the upcoming 2021-2022 school year!

Join NASSP, the National Association of Elementary School Principals, and the American Federation of School Administrators in honoring the enormous contributions of assistant principals to student success. This year, our celebration takes on even greater significance as we recognize all that assistant principals have conquered amid the pandemic and consider what their ever-expanding and evolving role might look like moving forward. Through it all, America’s assistant principals have demonstrated unwavering leadership—becoming a source of strength and inspiration for us all.

Alcorn Central High School is saddened to report the passing of David Nowell.
Mr. Nowell has been a big member of the Alcorn Central family. He is an ACHS graduate, longtime resident of Glen, and active participant in Alcorn Central activities. Mr. Nowell taught many AC students at the Alcorn Career & Technology Center in Ag & Natural Resources. He also helped get hundreds of students to and from school on his bus route in the Glen, Farmington, and Strickland communities.
He had such an infectious personality. His smile could brighten any day and his fun stories would pick up anyone that was down. He was passionate about agricultural education and was invested in his students through 4H and FFA.
We extend our sympathies to the Nowell family and all those Alcorn Central and ACTC students, teachers, and community members who have lost an advisor, mentor, and friend.
