On Saturday January 11th, the Kossuth Lady Aggies won their fourth consecutive championship title in the Alcorn County tournament. The lady Aggies played Alcorn Central on Thursday night, and dominated a 64-33 win over the Bears to push them to the Championship game. The Championship game was played by the Kossuth Lady Aggies and the Corinth Warriors. The final score of this game was Kossuth 52 and Corinth 28. The leading scorer of both of the games played by the Aggies was Zoe Essary. Zoe is a sophomore guard for the Aggies who came out with 23 points in the championship game and 14 in the game against Alcorn Central. Not only was Zoe the leading scorer for both of the games, but she was also chosen as the MVP of the Alcorn County Tournament. Faith Williamson, senior post for the Lady Aggies, also was chosen for the All County team. Both of these players were recognized for the hard work they have put in to be successful on the court. "Only one team can be county champions, and this was a very important tournament to win. It is also a great way to start the second half of the season. Being county champs is always a goal we set as a team and it is always wonderful when we achieve our goals set," expressed Head Coach Angie Malone.
